This Mindful Living Moment comes from a place inside of myself that recalls a question my mom asked me when someone would hurt or disappoint me, “Why are you crying, Child that’s nothing to cry about, don’t let it get to you.” But in actuality, it was getting to me and it needed to, in a sense, because it hurt my heart and that’s why it mattered.
I know my mom meant well and she was trying to teach me to be tough. She was trying to teach me, people and situations will hurt and disappoint you, so don’t allow it to get you so upset. However, it also taught me, that I couldn’t show too much emotions when I am hurt and disappointed. I also learned, I couldn’t let my pain get me all worked up. I understand now what she was trying to teach me, but I have learned, that wasn’t all I needed to be taught.
It is of great power we live in our spaces of hurt and disappointment in a healthy way. It will not make us no less the amazing and powerful beings we are. Warriors, are ones that heal from their scars, learn from the battle, embrace defeat, to be able to fight another day. We are strong women and we cry.

Strong women cry, but their tears become the water that nurtures a better tomorrow.
Strong women cry, but it is to show their sisters, life can be hard, but we don’t have to be.
Strong women cry, but their tears are for all the little girls out there, telling them, your heart can be broken and you can still wear an “S” on your chest.
Yes.
Strong women cry.

This touched my soul profoundly.
Thank you. I cried writing this.
Beautiful! My mother would do the same. Now I miss her more than ever, and I still cry!
